Come join the New York Botanical Garden to play online Plant
Trivia! Don’t think you know much about plants? Think again! Work
in a team to answer questions about plants in media, food and
plant-use in different cultures.

Plants in your Kitchen
Discover the plants and plant parts that are commonly used in
kitchens. In this session, you will make connections to plants as
food items and have the opportunity to share what types of plants
are found in your own kitchen!

12:00 PM – 12:30 PM
Macroinvertebrate Exploration
Drop in to see the aquatic creatures our instructors collected from
the Bronx River, and learn what they can tell scientists about our
water quality.

Family Science Days serve as a kickoff to our Urban Advantage program year, and is meant to get our schools, students and families excited about science and to create a memorable experience at our museums, gardens and zoos. Each of our eight UA institutions hosts a Family Science Day during the month of October. It is our hope that Family Science Day will spark student interest in science and inspire them to return to our institutions on their own.
