Family Science Day at Staten Island Zoo

See animals up close! Hear keeper talks! Conduct mini animal investigations! Make souvenirs to take home!

Join us at the Staten Island Zoo for a day of fun and science! Family Science Day is an open house in which families can take part in tons of exciting activities. You’ll be able to meet our animals up close (and touch them, if you dare!), explore real animal skulls, make enrichment for our animals, and much, much more! Talk with our Urban Advantage staff and zookeepers and get the chance to meet other Urban Advantage schools and families. Enjoy all the sights and sounds of the Zoo on a beautiful fall day! Plus SEE OUR NEWLY RENOVATED AQUARIUM!!

Family Science Days serve as a kickoff to our Urban Advantage program year, and is meant to get our schools, students and families excited about science and to create a memorable experience at our museums, gardens and zoos. Each of our eight UA institutions hosts a Family Science Day during the month of October. It is our hope that Family Science Day will spark student interest in science and inspire them to return to our institutions on their own.
